One thing techno-geeks loved about Barack Obama was that he was “addicted” to his Blackberry, made great use of email and text messaging, and could be followed on Twitter.
However, when Obama was sworn in as President on January 20, 2009, his Blackberry was taken away for security reasons, and he tweeted for the last time — at least on a consumer grade scale. Obama’s new email and Blackberry are now protected by super encyrption to keep hakcers and never-do-wells from compromising the President’s digital communications.
Obama was using a Blackberry 8830 World Edition. It is estimated his public endoresement was worth $50 million in free advertising for Blackberry.
