If you haven’t seen it yet, Showtime has a new show The United States of Tara on Sunday nights, about a mom (the mother from Little Miss Sunshine) who has whatever the correct psychological term is for split personalities, and is married to the guy from My Big Fat Greek Wedding. What that has to do with anything is that they attempt to relate the actual different personas to the fact that everyone everywhere has different aspects of who they are. Right? Like, at the end of this month, I will attempt to be Ninthlink Web Developer Alex Smith, Modlins bassist Alex Smith, and UCSD alum Alex Smith, all at the same time.
On Friday February 20th, as part of UCSD’s Young Alumni Weekend, bringing together graduates from 98 – 08, The Modlins will be playing at The Loft on UCSD campus, in the new( to me at least )-ly remodeled Price Center. We are playing with friends and fellow most-excellent San Diego band Secret Apollo, and to the best of my knowledge, the show starts at 9pm, is Free, will have appetizers even, and is open to everyone over the age of 21. I myself graduated with a BA in Mathematics – Computer Science from UCSD’s Warren College, but the show itself is open to all, alum or not. See you there!
