When is the first day of Fall? Itβs debatable.
In the northern hemisphere, the first day of fall is the first day that starts after the autumn equinox β the day in the fall when day and night are the same length. Fall is the season between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice. We say that the autumn equinox happens on September 21, but this is an average, and it can actually happen the day before or the day after.
However, in the United States, it is common to consider the day after Labor Day as the first day of Fall β people go back to school, seasonal hiring begins, sales start, and holiday banners start to appear in stores and public places.
Whatever day it is, Fall is here and upon us now β time to celebrate!
